SU and Rick Warren Partner to Promote Bible Reading

40 Days in the WordThrough its E100 program, Scripture Union partnered with Pastor Rick Warren in the "40 Days in the Word" Bible reading program, sponsored by Saddleback Community Church in California, where Warren is the Senior Pastor.

Starting on January 29, churches across the country joined Warren and the people at Saddleback in "loving, learning and living the Word of God" for 40 days. In the accompanying material, Warren teaches simple Bible study techniques intended to help people learn and apply Scripture in a new and deeper way.

"Too many of God's people don't know God's Word, don't really believe God's Word or don't 'do' God's Word. 40 Days in the Word will transform (them) from 'hearers' to 'doers'", Warren said.

E100 to be Follow-Up

A number of organizations have been invited to provide follow-up material for those completing "40 Days in the Word". Warren invited Scripture Union to provide The Essential 100 (E100) Challenge program for follow-up, and it's anticipated that the E100 will be one of the most popular of such programs.
