Both Discovery and Encounter are used along with Upmost by Chambers, along with Message and NIV paraphase and translations. To deepen the meaning at least for me of the Word of God. We certainly appreciate the insights from the different writers.

I use the King James Version of the bible because I feel that it is the truest form of the translation of God's Word to His people. It helps me see the messages in the daily readings in the Light of His Word.

I discoverd SU's Encounter With God many years ago when I was a seminary student at Ashland Theological Seminary. My wife and I each have a subscription and read it every day. Over the years we have given gifts subscription to several friends and family members. All three of my children and their families are active Bible readers. Reading the new Daily Bread I am somewhat disturbed by the apparent acceptance of man made scientific conclusions over what is actually written in Genesis.
Either we accept that everything was created as described or we don't. I don't see how one can "cherry pick".

I often use Bible gateway to cross reference and to read other translations simultaneously so that I have a richer and deeper meaning of Go'd messages.
I love SU's online Prayer jouranl and the Bible journal which I use. Reflecting and writng down your thoughts of what you have absorbed in the daily reading and how it applies personally and then praying and recording the prayer as well is so powerful.
The only disappoinment with Bible Journal is that it does not display the written thoughts...(more)

In my studies of the translated versions, I find the authorized King James Bible to be the only true translation from Hebrew and Greek. I don't understand why the other versions are so popular. Check out Acts 8:37 in the NIV and other versions compared to the King James and see what's been left out. In Revelations 22:19, the Bible says if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life...
